GURHAN and 24k gold. You can't think of one without the other. All of their jewelry incorporates 24k or 22k to guarantee you get as much gold as possible and more valuable jewelry. 24k gold is 100% pure gold (99.9%+), unlike its counterparts that are mixed with other metals 18k (75% gold), and 14k (58% gold).Â
Most of Gurhan's silver styles are "kissed" with 24k gold. What does "kissed" mean? The silver pieces may be either vermeil plated or bonded with 24k gold. Vermeil plating, a standard process, chemically adheres gold to silver. The bonding process involves fusing an actual sheet of 24k gold to the silver. While bonding creates a much thicker application of gold than vermeil, Gurhan's vermeil plating method applies an ample layer of gold and keeps within FTC guidelines (2.5 microns).
Gurhan ethically sources all of its gold and strives to use recycled gold. They work with a refinery that certifies the sources, so you'll have peace of mind buying sustainable, responsible gold.
