Necklace Sizing Guide

Find the perfect fit

Necklaces vary by chain length. The circumference of your neck and the size of a pendant will change how the necklace lays around your neck, where it hits, and how it looks layered with other styles.

To get a starting point, gently take a soft measuring tape and wrap it closely around your neck. Whatever your neck measures, add 1 inch. This measurement should be a comfortable length for a choker.
For longer lengths, measure and cut a piece of string the same length as the necklace you're eyeing.
Place it around your neck and see where it falls.

Tips for finding the right fit:

Most popular size for women is 18"
Most popular size for men is 20"
Consider the clothing you'll be wearing with the necklace. For example, a choker may not fit over a turtleneck but would look fantastic with a scoop neckline.
Factor in the wearer's size. For example, a 24" necklace may hand too low for a petite woman.
Pendants cause the necklace to hang differently, pulling the chain down. A longer chain might be needed.

Kissed with Gold

GURHAN and 24k gold. You can't think of one without the other. All of their jewelry incorporates 24k or 22k to guarantee you get as much gold as possible and more valuable jewelry. 24k gold is 100% pure gold (99.9%+), unlike its counterparts that are mixed with other metals 18k (75% gold), and 14k (58% gold).

Most of Gurhan's silver styles are "kissed" with 24k gold. What does "kissed" mean? The silver pieces may be either vermeil plated or bonded with 24k gold. Vermeil plating, a standard process, chemically adheres gold to silver. The bonding process involves fusing an actual sheet of 24k gold to the silver. While bonding creates a much thicker application of gold than vermeil, Gurhan's vermeil plating method applies an ample layer of gold and keeps within FTC guidelines (2.5 microns).

Gurhan ethically sources all of its gold and strives to use recycled gold. They work with a refinery that certifies the sources, so you'll have peace of mind buying sustainable, responsible gold.
